From the 18th to the 22nd of April 2016, researchers from TNO, AirTies and University of Zaragoza have met in Zaragoza, in order to work together in some functionalities to be included in the Wi-Fi Access Points.
Jose Almodovar, Luis Sequeira and José Ruiz have focused on the improvement of the Wi-5 Controller, which will coordinate the network in order to perform seamless handovers between two Access Points in different channels. New code has been added to the Controller, and a number of tests have been run in order to achieve this important Wi-5 functionality.
Ali Arsal, Agustín Sin and Jose Saldana have been working on the agent that runs on each Access Point of the network. They have improved a script for automatically building the software to be flashed in the Access Point. They have also studied the real possibilities of controlling the power of the Access Point with the current infrastructure. They have also started to work with packet aggregation functionalities. Finally, they have been able to run Odin framework in a Wi-Fi Access Point developed by AirTies.
